The Box Tea House Pod distills the essence of a traditional tea room into a modern, transportable volume. The 12–18㎡ interior is deliberately restrained: pale wood finishes, soft indirect lighting, and a single focal window framing a garden view or interior courtyard. The rectilinear form creates a sense of order and stillness conducive to slow, mindful interaction.
A low-profile service counter runs along one wall, with an undercounter hot water system, tea storage drawers, and a small refrigeration unit for fresh accompaniments. The main floor is raised 10cm in tatami style, with recessed floor seating or low tables as standard, and optional Western-style seating for hybrid use.
Materials emphasize natural tactility: bamboo or white oak wall panels, linen-textured acoustic ceiling, and stone-look porcelain flooring that withstands spills and heavy foot traffic. The glass frontage slides open to merge interior and exterior during temperate weather, while the insulated shell and heat-pump climate system maintain comfort in all seasons.
This pod serves equally well as a private client reception room, a meditation space, or a garden entertainment room. Exterior cladding in natural wood, matte black metal, or off-white render allows it to harmonize with residential, commercial, or landscape architecture.
